Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about CaptureX Pro.
What is new in CaptureX Pro 3.6.8?
+
Manual update checks now distinguish a successful current-version check, an available update, and a failed check. A timeout, network failure, or invalid server response shows localized guidance instead of claiming the app is up to date. You can open the official download page from the failure prompt.
An older version says it is up to date. What should I do?
+
Older versions could show that message after a failed update request. Visit the official Download page, compare its version with the version installed on your computer, and download the full installer if a newer version is available. Version 3.6.8 reports failed manual checks separately. Checking and downloading updates still require internet access.
How do I translate a passage without losing the rest of my OCR text?
+
Select a passage of up to 500 characters, choose the target language, and click Translate. Only that passage is replaced. Without a selection, the full text must be 500 characters or fewer. Longer text is kept intact so you can select a shorter passage. Edits made while a translation is pending are preserved. Translation uses online services and needs an internet connection.
What happens if text extraction times out?
+
A result that arrives after its OCR timeout is ignored. The native engine may still be finishing the attempt; allow it to finish before trying again. Use a smaller, clear region and choose Arabic, English, or both as appropriate.
Can I use two monitors with different Windows scaling?
+
Choose Capture display for full-screen screenshots. Automatic uses the app window’s display; its full-screen hotkey follows the pointer. In Screen Recorder choose a display or All displays, or place the region frame where needed. All displays preserves desktop gaps. Arrange screens before recording: if an involved display changes, restore its layout to resume or stop and save existing segments.
How do I download and start the 90-day trial?
+
Open the official Download page, click Download for Windows, then open CaptureXPro-Setup-v3.6.8.exe from your Downloads folder or browser download list. Complete setup, launch CaptureX Pro, and choose Start Trial in the license window. The full installer includes recording and Arabic/English OCR components.
I already started a trial. Do I get another 90 days?
+
Updating to 3.6.8 gives a trial total of 90 days from its original activation, not 90 extra days. For example, 40 elapsed days leave 50 remaining. The existing trial record keeps its start date when you update. Check the remaining days in the license window.
Will I be charged when the trial ends?
+
Starting the trial requires no payment details and does not automatically buy a license. After it ends, choose and activate a Monthly, Annual, or Three-year license to continue using the app. The plan price is shown before payment.
Where can I find the in-app user guide?
+
Press F1 in the main window or open Help > Help Topics. The guide covers recording settings, the main tool tabs, editable projects and recovery, A4/A5 crop and print, whiteboard, and OCR troubleshooting. The Features page also includes a four-step recording walkthrough.
How do I choose recording quality and file size?
+
Choose 15, 30, or 60 FPS and Balanced, High quality, or Smaller file. Original size keeps the capture dimensions; the 1080p and 720p limits reduce larger captures while preserving proportions, without enlarging a smaller capture. Higher settings need more processing power and storage; a short test helps you choose settings for your computer.
Can I record system audio and microphone together?
+
Choose System + mic when a compatible loopback recording device and a microphone are detected. System audio needs a supported device such as an available Stereo Mix input; it is not available on every PC. Choose the detected devices in the recorder. MP4 supports audio; GIF does not.
What happens when I pause, or saving a recording fails?
+
Pause and Resume control the screen recording, selected audio, and webcam together. If final saving fails, the original recording files are retained and Retry saving recording lets you try again. This is recovery from a save failure, not automatic recovery of every interrupted recording.
Where are the tools in the new main window?
+
Use the Annotate, Image tools, and Apps & utilities tabs. Capture and recording remain available above the tabs, and existing keyboard shortcuts are preserved. Tools > Crop & print a document still opens a file directly; Ctrl+P opens printing from the editor.
How do I print a document image received through WhatsApp?
+
Save the image, then choose Tools > Crop & print a document and select the file. You can also open it in the editor and choose Crop & print a document or press Ctrl+P. Select A4 or A5 and portrait or landscape, drag the document crop, then click Apply crop. Rotate 90 degrees or reset if needed. Review the preview and adjustable margins, set to 10 mm by default, then click Choose printer & print… and confirm a supported printer in the Windows dialog.
What is the difference between Fit and Fill?
+
Fit keeps the entire cropped image inside the available page area. Fill covers that area and may trim the image edges. Check the preview before printing, especially near text or signatures. The print crop does not overwrite the source file or change the editor document.
Can I save the print layout as a PDF?
+
Yes, through a Windows PDF printer. Select Microsoft Print to PDF in the printer dialog if it is installed and supports the selected paper size, then choose where Windows saves the file.
Why might A5 be unavailable, or the printed image look soft?
+
The printer driver must support the chosen paper size and orientation; its hardware margins also apply. Choose a compatible printer or supported size if necessary. The preview estimates effective resolution and shows a warning below 150 DPI. A larger print cannot restore detail missing from a compressed or low-resolution source image.
How do I recover an editor session?
+
CaptureX Pro saves changes automatically during editing. When the editor opens again, choose Restore to reopen the saved documents as tabs, or Discard to remove that saved session. Recovered tabs can open alongside a new capture. Save important work as a .cxproj project as well.
What is new in CaptureX Pro 3.6.0?
+
Version 3.6.0 adds 15/30/60 FPS recording, Balanced/High quality/Smaller file presets, original-size or 1080p/720p limits, coordinated pause and resume, retry saving after a failed export, and organized main-window tabs. A4 and A5 printing, editable .cxproj projects, image tabs, session recovery, history, and Arabic and English OCR remain available.
How is a project different from an exported image?
+
A .cxproj project keeps the image and editable annotations so you can change them later. Exported PNG, JPEG, or BMP files are finished images for sharing. Previous-session undo history is not stored in a project; new edits after reopening have their own undo history.
Can I work on several images at once?
+
Yes. Open multiple images as editor tabs and switch between them. Each open document keeps its own edits and undo history during the session.
Does editing from history replace the original image?
+
No. Saving an edit from history creates a new image copy and a separate history entry. The original file stays unchanged. You can also add favorites and tags to organize your library.
Does CaptureX Pro work offline?
+
Screen capture, image editing, project files, recording, and Arabic and English OCR work locally. Activation, updates, translation, and online sharing need an internet connection.
What should I download if OCR does not start?
+
Install the complete current version from the Download page. It includes the native OCR libraries and Arabic and English language data. Keep the installed application files together; copying only CaptureXPro.exe is not a complete installation.
What is CaptureX Pro?
+
CaptureX Pro is a professional screen capture and annotation tool for Windows 10 & 11. It includes region/window/fullscreen/freeform capture, editable project files, multiple image tabs, session recovery, OCR text extraction, screen recording with webcam overlay, an image editor with 15+ annotation tools, color picker, screen ruler, and more.
Is there a free trial?
+
Yes! CaptureX Pro offers a free 90-day trial with all features included. No credit card required. Download the full EXE installer, complete setup, open the app, and choose Start Trial.
What are the system requirements?
+
CaptureX Pro requires Windows 10 version 2004 or later, or Windows 11 (64-bit), and at least 4 GB RAM. The installer includes the .NET runtime, FFmpeg, and Arabic and English OCR components. Allow additional space for projects and recordings.
How does the free trial differ from the Monthly license?
+
The free trial lasts 90 days from first trial activation. The 30-day duration belongs to the paid Monthly license. Updating does not restart the trial and starting a trial does not charge you.
When does the Three-year license end?
+
Three calendar years after its first activation in CaptureX Pro 3.6.6 or later. The license window shows its expiry date. Reactivating the same key does not start another three years; purchase a new license to continue after expiry. Unused trial days are not added.
What happens to an existing Lifetime license?
+
It retains its original no-expiry terms. The Three-year offer applies to new purchases and does not shorten an existing Lifetime license.
How much does CaptureX Pro cost?
+
We offer three plans: Monthly ($1/month), Yearly ($9/year — save 25%), and Three years ($21 for the full term). All plans include every feature. Student discount available (50% off with a valid .edu email).
Is there a student discount?
+
Yes! Students with a valid .edu email address get 50% off any plan. Use promo code BLUVJ2010 at checkout. The discount applies to monthly, yearly, and three-year plans.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor PaySky. All transactions are encrypted with 256-bit SSL.
Can I use CaptureX Pro on multiple computers?
+
Each license key is valid for one computer. If you need to use CaptureX Pro on multiple machines, you will need a separate license for each. Contact support if you need volume licensing.
How do I activate my license?
+
After purchase, open Help > License in CaptureX Pro, enter the license key received by email, and click Activate. Paid activation requires an internet connection. A paid license starts on activation; unused trial days are not added to its term.
What capture modes are available?
+
CaptureX Pro supports: Region capture (select any area), Window capture (active window), Fullscreen capture, Freeform capture, and Delayed capture for menus and tooltips.
Does CaptureX Pro support OCR (text extraction)?
+
Yes. CaptureX Pro includes local Tesseract OCR with Arabic and English language packs. Extract text from a screenshot, image, or screen region, then review and edit it before copying. Accuracy depends on the image quality, text size, and selected language.
Can I record my screen?
+
Yes. Record the full screen or a selected region as MP4 video or an animated GIF. You can add a webcam overlay and choose available audio devices for MP4. GIF files have no audio. Frame rate, quality, and resolution limits are configurable before you start.
What annotation tools are included?
+
The image editor includes: arrows, lines, rectangles, circles, text boxes, blur/pixelate, highlighter, numbered steps, stamps (checkmark, cross, etc.), freehand drawing, crop, resize, and more — over 15 tools total.
What languages does the app support?
+
The CaptureX Pro interface is available in 10 languages: English, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Where should I download CaptureX Pro?

Does CaptureX Pro auto-update?
+
Yes. CaptureX Pro checks for updates automatically on startup. When a new version is available, you will be prompted to download and install it with one click.
Can I use CaptureX Pro for commercial purposes?
+
Yes! All license types (monthly, yearly, and three-year) allow both personal and commercial use. Use it for work, client projects, documentation, presentations, and more.
What is the Teleprompter feature?
+
The Teleprompter displays a script while you present or record, with vertical scrolling or a horizontal ticker. Adjust speed, font size, opacity, theme, and mirror mode. Open it from Apps & utilities or the Screen Recorder. It requests Windows capture exclusion; check a short recording on your setup before relying on the script being hidden.
Does the Teleprompter appear in screen recordings?
+
The Teleprompter requests capture exclusion through Windows Display Affinity. Whether it is hidden depends on the Windows version and capture method. Check a short recording with the software and settings you plan to use.
How does the Whiteboard work?
+
Whiteboard opens with a white background and the pen selected. Draw, Colors & background, and Save & record tabs provide 10 drawing tools, 10 colors, adjustable sizes, and white, dark, or Desktop overlay backgrounds. Cover area uses an opaque rectangle. Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y undo and redo changes. Ctrl+S saves only the drawing and chosen background as PNG, without toolbars or the desktop behind it; Desktop overlay exports with transparency. Recording offers a full display or region, an optional microphone, and Pause/Resume and Stop controls.
Can I use the Whiteboard while switching between applications?
+
Choose Colors & background > Desktop overlay to draw over other windows. Navigate or F10 changes navigation mode while Whiteboard has focus. Use Alt+Tab to switch applications; then select Whiteboard again and choose Draw to continue. F10 is a window shortcut, so it does not bring Whiteboard back while another app has focus. F11 switches fullscreen mode.
